The Library subscribes to a number of specialist databases that are of particular relevance to Social Anthropology including traditional academic resources such as books and journals and also primary data sources. - AnthroSource a collection of Anthropology journals dating back as far as 1888
- GreenFile a database including articles on all aspects of human impact on the environment
- International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (IBSS) a general social science database with a focus on anthropology, economics, politics and sociology.
- JSTOR an archival journal collection including anthropology titles
- Periodicals Archives Online 700 journals including anthropology and ethnology titles

- Black Thought and Culture non fiction writing by major American black leaders covering 250 years of history
- Confidential Print: Africa 1834-1966 papers from the Foreign and Colonial Offices covering the modern period of European colonisation of the African continent
