The video games industry makes more money than the music and film industries combined but do we really understand video games – their ideas, their influences, their commentary on society, politics and culture? What do they tell us about the world we live in – the world outside the game?<\/p>\n
Dr John Wills<\/strong><\/a>, Reader in American History and Culture, was asked by The British Academy<\/a> to record a short film for key-stage four school pupils exploring these questions as part of its virtual Summer Showcase<\/a> last month:<\/p>\n
