The Bolt Lecture 2014

The Centre for American Studies’ annual Bolt Lecture, will take place on Thursday 23rd January 2014 from 6.00pm onwards in the Grimond Building (GLT1), University of Kent. The Bolt lecture is held in honour of Professor Christine Bolt and her husband Ian, both of whom were enthusiastic supporters of American Studies here.

This year we are delighted to welcome Professor Serge Durflinger from the University of Ottawa who will be discussing commemoration, the First World War and popular memory in a lecture entitled ‘Remembering the First World War the Canadian Way.’  The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception and buffet for current students, staff and alumni of the Centre.
