Five papers from Data Science group members have been accepted for oral presentation at EMBC 2020.<\/p>\n
Congratulations to Kostantinos Patlatzoglou<\/a>, Yuzhou Lin<\/a>, Lam Pham<\/a>, Liqun Wu<\/a>, and Robin Ayling<\/a> who had their papers accepted at the 42nd Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC 2020<\/a>) in Montreal, Canada this coming July.<\/p>\n Kostantinos, a PhD student supervised by Dr Srivas Chennu, submitted a paper titled ‘Generalized Prediction of Unconsciousness during Propofol Anesthesia using 3D Convolutional Neural Networks’.<\/p>\n For his PhD, Yuzhou is supervised by Dr Caroline Li<\/a>, Dr Palani Ramaswamy<\/a> and Prof. Philippe De Wilde<\/a>. Their accepted paper is titled ‘A normalisation approach improves the performance of inter-subject sEMG-based hand gesture recognition with a ConvNet’.<\/p>\n Lam, whose PhD supervisors are Dr Palani Ramaswamy<\/a> and Prof Ian McLoughlin<\/a>, submitted a paper titled ‘Robust Deep Learning Framework for Predicting Respiratory Anomalies and Diseases’.<\/p>\n Liqun Wu, whose PhD supervisors are Dr Caroline Li<\/a> and Prof. Samuele Marcora<\/a>, submitted a paper titled ‘Investigating into segmentation methods for diagnosis of respiratory diseases using adventitious respiratory sounds’.<\/p>\n Robin, who recently joined the Data Science group after his PhD supervisor Dr Colin Johnson<\/a> moved to Nottingham, submitted the paper ‘Pose Estimation from Electromyographical Data using Convolutional Neural Networks’.
