Across the whole academic year, we delivered an incredible 250 events, welcoming over 6,000 attendees – making this our biggest and most successful year yet!

Our coach trips continued to be one of the most popular events, with students heading off to Brighton, Cambridge, Leeds Castle and London. These trips sold out within days, giving students the opportunity to discover new places, make friends and enjoy memorable experiences beyond the Canterbury campus! With the addition of our new ResLife minibus next year, we’re excited to offer even more opportunities to explore Kent and beyond.

One of the standout events of the term was May Mayhem, which welcomed nearly 250 students to Eliot Dining Hall for an afternoon packed with fun. Students enjoyed hot dogs alongside games including the Cash Grabber, Last Man Standing Sweeper, Star Wars Nerf Range and Sumo Wrestling Suits. There were also plenty of creative activities, including decorating their own bell hats. It was fantastic to see so many students coming together to enjoy something a little different on campus.

Creativity remained a big theme throughout the term, with students taking part in everything from Easter crafts, tote bag painting and crochet to henna art, sip and paint, clay modelling and friendship bracelet making. Our much loved Animal Experience also returned, giving students the chance to meet and learn about a variety of fascinating creatures. Thanks to its popularity, we’ve already booked three more Animal Experience events for Term 1 next year.

Alongside these special events, students continued to enjoy our regular and cultural movie nights, karaoke sessions and Sunday Socials. These events provide a great way to relax, meet new people and feel part of the University of Kent community.

As the year comes to a close, we’ve also welcomed our new team of ResLife Ambassadors, many of whom have already completed Mental Health Ambassador training with East Kent Mind. We’d like to say a huge thank you to our graduating ambassadors for everything they’ve done to support students this year, and we wish them all the very best for the future.

We’re already planning another exciting programme of events, trips and activities for next year and can’t wait to welcome students back in September for another unforgettable year of ResLife.

As another academic year comes to an end, it’s the perfect time to look back on an amazing year for ResLife and celebrate all the … Read more

[246077,247356,247905,240676
246077,247356,240676
