{"id":1018,"date":"2025-06-06T14:51:16","date_gmt":"2025-06-06T13:51:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\/?p=1018"},"modified":"2025-06-06T16:24:08","modified_gmt":"2025-06-06T15:24:08","slug":"september-starters-application-and-arrival-advice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\/september-starters-application-and-arrival-advice\/","title":{"rendered":"September 2025 starters: application and arrival advice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Everything you need to know about applying for accommodation and arriving in September<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"221\" data-end=\"294\">Let\u2019s start with the big one: <strong data-start=\"251\" data-end=\"292\">when can you apply for accommodation?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"296\" data-end=\"447\">Applications open <strong data-start=\"314\" data-end=\"341\">online from mid-January<\/strong>, and if you apply <strong data-start=\"360\" data-end=\"378\">before 30 June<\/strong>, you\u2019re <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\/offer-guarantee\"><strong>guaranteed to receive an accommodation offer<\/strong><\/a> from us. Win!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"449\" data-end=\"722\">Missed the 30 June deadline? Don\u2019t worry,\u00a0you can still apply after that date, but offers will then be made on a <strong data-start=\"563\" data-end=\"591\">first come, first served<\/strong> basis, depending on availability. So, if you\u2019ve got your heart set on campus living, it&#8217;s best to get your application in early.\u00a0You\u2019ll hear back from us about your application <strong data-start=\"772\" data-end=\"826\">after A-Level results day (from 14 August onwards)<\/strong> &#8211; so keep an eye on your inbox around that time.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"content content--aside content--aside-bottom\">\n<nav role=\"navigation\" aria-labelledby=\"link-listing__title--useful-info\"><\/nav>\n<\/aside>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1019\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\/files\/2024\/06\/A95P7615.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"5184\" height=\"3456\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"106\" data-end=\"125\">How do I apply?<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"127\" data-end=\"250\">You can apply online through the <a href=\"https:\/\/kenthospitality.kent.ac.uk\/MyAccommodation\/\"><strong data-start=\"160\" data-end=\"186\">MyAccommodation Portal<\/strong><\/a>, available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\"><strong data-start=\"205\" data-end=\"249\">University of Kent Accommodation website<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"252\" data-end=\"380\">To get started, you\u2019ll need to <strong data-start=\"283\" data-end=\"310\">register for an account<\/strong>. It\u2019s quick and easy &#8211; just make sure you have the following to hand:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"382\" data-end=\"572\">\ud83d\udd39 <strong data-start=\"385\" data-end=\"401\">Your surname<\/strong> (as it appears on your UCAS application)<br data-start=\"442\" data-end=\"445\" \/>\ud83d\udd39 <strong data-start=\"448\" data-end=\"470\">Your date of birth<\/strong><br data-start=\"470\" data-end=\"473\" \/>\ud83d\udd39 <strong data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"509\">Your Kent Applicant ID number<\/strong> (you\u2019ll find this at the top of any emails or letters from us)<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"829\">We recommend using your <strong data-start=\"598\" data-end=\"624\">personal email address<\/strong> instead of a school one, so you don\u2019t miss any important updates over summer. And don\u2019t forget to <strong data-start=\"723\" data-end=\"758\">save your username and password<\/strong> somewhere safe &#8211; you\u2019ll need them to return to your application later.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"856\" data-end=\"1218\">If you\u2019re applying for <strong data-start=\"879\" data-end=\"893\">Canterbury<\/strong>, you\u2019ll be asked to choose <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\/canterbury\/find-my-room\"><strong data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"946\">four room preferences<\/strong><\/a> (with a maximum of two en-suite). En-suite rooms are limited, so we recommend including non-en-suite options in your preferences to boost your chances. Not sure what to choose? Our <strong data-start=\"1128\" data-end=\"1169\">\u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\/options\/\">Your guide to university accommodation<\/a>\u2019<\/strong> guide and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\">website<\/a> are great places to start.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1220\" data-end=\"1443\">If you&#8217;re applying for <strong data-start=\"1243\" data-end=\"1253\">Medw<\/strong><strong data-start=\"1243\" data-end=\"1253\">a<\/strong><strong data-start=\"1243\" data-end=\"1253\">y<\/strong>, it\u2019s even simpler &#8211; all rooms at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\/medway\/pier-quays\"><strong data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1302\">Pier Quays<\/strong><\/a> are en-suite, so there\u2019s just one room type to select. You can find out more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\/living-in-university-accommodation#medway\"><strong data-start=\"1386\" data-end=\"1427\">Pier Quays and student life at Medway<\/strong><\/a> on our website.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"164\" data-end=\"188\">When should I apply?<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"190\" data-end=\"294\">To guarantee an offer of accommodation, you should <a href=\"https:\/\/kenthospitality.kent.ac.uk\/MyAccommodation\/\">submit your application<\/a> <strong data-start=\"265\" data-end=\"291\">by Monday 30 June 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"296\" data-end=\"508\">After that, offers will still be made, but it\u2019s on a <strong data-start=\"349\" data-end=\"383\">first-come, first-served basis<\/strong> and subject to availability, so the earlier you apply, the better your chances of getting one of your preferred room types.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"510\" data-end=\"541\">\ud83d\udcc5 <strong data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"539\">Key dates and details:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"542\" data-end=\"715\">\n<li data-start=\"542\" data-end=\"593\">\n<p data-start=\"544\" data-end=\"593\"><strong data-start=\"544\" data-end=\"569\">Apply by 30 June 2025<\/strong> to guarantee an offer<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"594\" data-end=\"658\">\n<p data-start=\"596\" data-end=\"658\"><strong data-start=\"596\" data-end=\"656\">Accommodation offers are sent out from 14 August onwards<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"659\" data-end=\"715\">\n<p data-start=\"661\" data-end=\"715\">Offers are made in the order applications are received<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"717\" data-end=\"775\">\ud83d\udce9 <strong data-start=\"720\" data-end=\"773\">Who your offer comes from depends on your campus:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"776\" data-end=\"977\">\n<li data-start=\"776\" data-end=\"879\">\n<p data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"879\">If you&#8217;re applying for <strong data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"815\">Canterbury<\/strong>, your offer email will come from the <strong data-start=\"853\" data-end=\"877\">Accommodation Office<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"880\" data-end=\"977\">\n<p data-start=\"882\" data-end=\"977\">If you&#8217;re applying for <strong data-start=\"905\" data-end=\"915\">Medway<\/strong>, you\u2019ll hear from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitestudents.com\/student-accommodation\/medway\/pier-quays\"><strong data-start=\"934\" data-end=\"952\">Unite Students<\/strong><\/a> (they manage Pier Quays)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"979\" data-end=\"1295\">\ud83d\udd01 <strong data-start=\"982\" data-end=\"1029\">For UG, Adjustment and Clearing applicants:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1029\" data-end=\"1032\" \/>You\u2019ll need to <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3bAcVHj\">apply for accommodation <strong data-start=\"1071\" data-end=\"1081\">online<\/strong><\/a> and make sure to select <strong data-start=\"1106\" data-end=\"1113\">yes<\/strong> when asked if you require university accommodation as part of the <strong data-start=\"1180\" data-end=\"1212\">Clearing application process<\/strong>. Once that\u2019s done, your details will be sent directly to our Accommodation Office.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1020\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\/files\/2024\/06\/NEB_1604.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"8192\" height=\"5464\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"174\" data-end=\"193\">Arrivals Advice<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"195\" data-end=\"311\">We recommend that all students aim to arrive during <strong data-start=\"247\" data-end=\"310\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\/arrivals\">Arrivals Weekend<\/a> \u2013 Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"313\" data-end=\"516\">From that week onwards, there\u2019ll be a range of <strong data-start=\"360\" data-end=\"378\">welcome events<\/strong> hosted by <strong data-start=\"389\" data-end=\"403\">Kent Union<\/strong>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/life\/living-on-campus\/reslife\"><strong data-start=\"409\" data-end=\"425\">ResLife team<\/strong><\/a>, and your <strong data-start=\"436\" data-end=\"459\">academic department<\/strong> \u2013 so keep an eye on your emails for updates and invites!<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"518\" data-end=\"700\">\u2708\ufe0f <strong data-start=\"521\" data-end=\"558\">Can\u2019t arrive on Arrivals Weekend?<\/strong><br data-start=\"558\" data-end=\"561\" \/>No stress. We know plans can change. If you&#8217;re going to be delayed beyond the start of your course, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/accommodation\/contact\">just let us know<\/a> so we can support you.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"746\">\ud83e\uddf3 <strong data-start=\"705\" data-end=\"726\">Before you arrive<\/strong><br data-start=\"726\" data-end=\"729\" \/>You\u2019ll need to:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"747\" data-end=\"941\">\n<li data-start=\"747\" data-end=\"822\">\n<p data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"822\"><strong data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"785\">Accept your accommodation offer<\/strong> via the <a href=\"https:\/\/kenthospitality.kent.ac.uk\/MyAccommodation\/\"><strong data-start=\"794\" data-end=\"820\">MyAccommodation Portal<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"823\" data-end=\"871\">\n<p data-start=\"826\" data-end=\"871\">Complete your <strong data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"869\">accommodation e-induction<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"872\" data-end=\"941\">\n<p data-start=\"875\" data-end=\"941\"><strong data-start=\"875\" data-end=\"905\">Register your arrival date<\/strong> at the end of the induction process<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"1098\">Changed your plans? You can update your arrival date in the MyAccommodation Portal <strong data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1062\">up to 48 hours before you&#8217;re due<\/strong>.
