Good luck Mimi Anderson

Please join us in supporting Mimi, she has been working with the Sports Ready Clinic for injury rehabilitation and conditioning to help her in her attempt to achieve her biggest goal to date, to run from LA to New York in 53 days!

Mimi who is now 55 years of age, sets off at 6am on the 7th September 2017 to run 2,850 miles across the width of America in attempt to break the world record. Starting at the steps of City Hall Los Angeles, with her finishing line being the steps of City Hall in New York.

Mimi started working with the Sports Ready Clinic 12 months ago after she needed menisci and cartilage surgery on her knee. Her goal to run across America was postponed so she could undergo a fully comprehensive rehabilitation to ensure that when she did attempt the ultra-run her body was ready and not just ‘making do’. Our staff and students have since provided full treatments to Mimi including fully comprehensive rehabilitation exercise programmes, use of the AlterG and conditioning programmes working along side her coach, to help her prepare for her Guinness World Record attempt, aiming to beat the current record, set in 1979.

Mimi is raising money for both Free To Run and Marie Curie; you can donate and follow Mimi’s progress on her run here: http://www.mimirunsusa.com/

Good luck Mimi from the SSES team!
