Dr Sandy Alexander, a long-term supporter, governor and friend of the University, passed away on 11 July.

Dr Alexander joined the University Council in 1974 as a lay member and was the University’s Treasurer from 1977 until 1992. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Civil Law in 1982.

Dr Alexander’s funeral was held on 1 August as a private family affair. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday 27 August at 2.30pm in the crypt of Canterbury Cathedral.
