ASOS On Campus Student Insider

ASOS

ASOS burst on to the scene in 2000 and hasn’t looked back. We are the UK’s number one fashion and beauty destination, and as a recent survey showed, we are the second most visited fashion website on the planet. With over 65,000 products across womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories, jewellery and beauty, we’re setting the pace in a worldwide fashion revolution. With around 2,500 new product lines being introduced each week, we’re ambitious and we certainly know our stuff. We ship to 237 countries and also have specific sites targeting the USA, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, Russia and China, with offices in London, Sydney, New York, France and Germany and China.
Our ambition is to be the world’s no.1 online fashion brand for 20-somethings, having set ourselves a target to reach £1bn annual sales by 2015. Therefore it is really important to us that we continue to attract top talent across the globe to help us realise our goals. If you’re looking for an opportunity to go places and really take your career forward, we could be the perfect fit for you!
We’re looking for On Campus Student Insiders to join the team.

We believe fashion makes people feel great. We want to bring this feeling to our student customers, helping them to look, feel, and be their best at university. We already offer students 10% discount all year round, but as a Student Insider, you have a unique opportunity to engage with ASOS student customers and inspire them through authentic and useful content.

You will be one of 3 Student Insiders in the UK, responsible for capturing, creating and curating fashion and lifestyle-based content that reflects what’s hot in a university student’s life. The content you create will appear on the ASOS social channels, the ASOS website, our media partner’s channels, and your own social channels. You will receive training, guidance and support from the professional creative, editorial, social and marketing teams here at ASOS, as well as regular coordination and support from the ASOS Brand Marketing Manager to help not only grow your following, but take your personal blogging/vlogging/photography skills to the next level.

You will be confident and obsessed with social media, with a passion for fashion, travel, music, and developing a kickass career. You will bring your enthusiasm to the role, along with a desire to share your creative point of view, whether this is styling, blogging, Instagramming, tweeting or videography. This is an incredible opportunity to showcase your abilities and create content that will engage ASOS student customers across the UK.

You will be 1 of 3 Student Insiders working from home in the UK. Applications close: 4th October 2015.

Christine Eagle

I took a degree in mathematics at Oxford University in the sixties, then had nothing at all to do with academic life for many years until I came to the University of Kent in 1992, first to do a Postgraduate diploma in IT skills, then a Masters in Social Statistics. My work ranges from advice on the purchase and use of software and hardware to classes for both graduate and undergraduate students on IT and statistical skills relevant to the Social Sciences. I am particularly interested in promoting numeracy, and a better understanding of statistics and statistical ideas in everyday life.

In addition to my regular work, I have also administered two major international conferences hosted by the department: the 16th Annual Meeting of the Society for Conservation Biology in 2002 and the 9th Congress of the International Society of Ethnobiology in 2004.

Samantha Barnes

New to the world of Higher Education and the University of Kent, I’m still finding my feet with the varied and challenging role of School Administration Manager.  My background is incredibly diverse, ranging from public sector to pubs to print to IT.  I studied Accounting and Finance at the University of Kent and am incredibly pleased to be back.

If I can help in anyway, please feel free to knock on my door within the Marlowe building.  Just ask at the SAC reception where you can find me.

Kate Ayres

I joined the SAC administrative team in March 2013 having previously spent many years working in project management and business information for various firms in the City. So working in Higher Education is a completely new venture for me.

My role within SAC is Clerical Assistant. This a new role and I am based in the SAC reception.

My main duties will be assisting with the running of reception, inputting marks onto Cressida and other systems, dealing with incoming assignments and taking minutes at key school meetings.

My role is part-time so I will be here on Mondays (9.30-3.15), Wednesdays (9-5) and Thursdays (9.30-2.30).

As a former student of History at UKC (quite a few years ago!) it feels really good to be back and working somewhere I care about.
