ERC MSc Scholarship 2017

Applications are invited for a £2,000 MSc scholarship, funded by a European Research Council (ERC) grant on the project: Tracking the cognitive basis of social communication across the life-span (see www.kent.ac.uk/psychology/CogSoCoAGE/). The successful applicant will undertake their Dissertation under the supervision of Dr Heather Ferguson at the University of Kent’s School of Psychology, starting in September 2017. Also collaborating on the research project are Dr Victoria Brunsdon and Dr Lizzie Bradford (University of Kent).

The School of Psychology offers scholarships of £1,000 to applicants of any tuition fee paying status registering on one of our taught MSc programmes in September 2017.

Value and availability

  • Receive a £1,000 discount on tuition fees
  • Up to seven awards are available for entry in 2017

Scholarships are allocated to applicants who meet the general award criteria on a competitive basis, applications will be ranked by a selection panel.*

The Social Psychology of Banditry – Research Scholarship 2017

Psychology at Kent offers a supportive, dynamic and diverse environment for creative research and learning. The social psychology research group at Kent is a leading centre for social psychological research in Europe. The group is comprised of internationally renowned researchers who have established a worldwide reputation for their research.

The School of Psychology is currently inviting applications for a cross-disciplinary PhD research scholarship in social psychology and politics to to commence in September 2017. This scholarship will take the form of a Vice Chancellor’s Research Scholarships administered under the Graduate Teaching Assistant Scheme. The awardee will work on the quantitative testing of social banditry theories supervised by Dr Giovanni Travaglino (primary supervisor, School of Psychology), Dr Harmonie Toros (co-supervisor in the School of Politics and International Relations), and Professor Dominic Abrams (co-supervisor in the School of Psychology).

Leverhulme Trust PhD Studentship 2016

Applications are invited for a Leverhulme Trust 3 year PhD studentship, on the project: Imagining the self in fictional worlds: evidence from Autism Spectrum Disorder (see also www.kent.ac.uk/psychology/research/ark/). The studentship will be undertaken under the supervision of Dr Heather Ferguson and Dr David Williams at the University of Kent’s School of Psychology, starting in September 2016.

Project-Linked PhD Scholarship 2016

The School of Psychology is currently inviting applications for one scholarship to commence in October 2016. This scholarship will take the form of a School of Psychology Project-Linked Research Scholarship administered under the Graduate Teaching Assistant Scheme.

The awardee of the Project-Linked Research Scholarship will collaborate on a specific project with a supervisory team of two or more academic staff members. You are strongly advised to contact the lead supervisor of the project you are interested in to request advice for writing the proposal, which should expand on the brief summaries given.
