Wednesday 9 May Languages A La Carte Languages Ă  la carte is an event for students in year 10 and above and gives participants the opportunity to try new languages and find out more about studying languages at University. Workshops on offer will include new languages such as Italian, Mandarin and Japanese, an introduction to linguistics and a chance to talk to student ambassadors about language study at University and spending a year abroad.

Various Dates starting Monday 14 May Physical Performance and Devising – Drama Workshops  

The School of Arts at the University of Kent are offering partner schools the opportunity to participate in drama workshops run by graduate theatre company and resident artists GOLKK. GOLKK are a physical theatre ensemble who make their performances through improvisations and play. They offer workshops which are designed to develop students’ creativity and confidence in physical performance, and give a new perspective on how theatre can be devised.

 

In School & on Campus Year 7 to 13 Drama
Bespoke (over two days) How Clean is your Classroom  

This practical based two day session allows students to investigate and test the effectiveness of cleaning reagents on classroom surfaces. Allowing students to create their own observations and conclusions from the experiment.

 

In School Year 7 to 9 Sciences
Bespoke Fruit DNA  

This activity is designed to enable students to explore the concept of DNA. It will allow students to get to understand what DNA is, the structure as well as providing students with the opportunity to extract DNA from fruit. This session can be adapted to suit the age of the audience.
