We have changed the default search setting for the combined online and print journals search to ‘Title keywords’, which we hope will make searching easier:
www.kent.ac.uk/library/online/journals/index.html
This also brings the journals search on the website in line with the same search on the beta Library catalogue.

The really big thing that’s happened on the Library Services website recently is actually a side effect of the customisation of the beta catalogue: it’s now possible to retrieve print and ejournal search results in a single search!
Previously, if you searched our online journals holdings for the journal Dada Surrealism (for which we only have a print, not an online subscription) you would only have got the message: Sorry, this search returned no results. You would then have to go to the Library catalogue to see if we have a print subscription instead.
Now, because the print journal holdings are integrated into the same search, you would get the result: Dada Surrealism in Kent print journals (see catalogue record). The link takes you to the journal’s record in the beta Library catalogue.
The same combined search can be performed from within the beta catalogue: follow the ‘Journal title search’ link or, within the catalogue, click on the ‘Journals’ tab.

The JSTOR access problems we mentioned a couple of posts ago have been resolved and the workaround is no longer necessary.
However there are still problems with exporting JSTOR references to Refworks. The Library Services homepage news will keep you updated on this issue.

Are you a member of the University of Kent and get this error message when accessing JSTOR: ‘We do not recognize you as having access to JSTOR’?
This is a temporary problem under investigation. In the meantime, use this workaround.
