Kent Sport Xercise Factor champion

2015 has seen the most successful Xercise Factor yet in the event’s four-year history.  The competition was so tight that four competitors made it through to the final. The Xercise Factor invites applicants to not only change their fitness habits but their whole lifestyle, they are supported along the way by their Fitness Team Mentor who are often equally competitive in seeing their contestant win.

The final was contested by Sylwia Wojciechowska, Wura Oyenekan, Janet Ogunwusi and Omar Alkahily and each of them would have been a worthy winner.

Omar was the only male in the competition and recorded his journey on video so that he could post his sessions on his YouTube page and inspire his 2000+ followers back home in Saudi Arabia.  Developing his good foundation in strength, Omar’s core was blasted each week by his mentor Oli through a series of exercises and drills and concluded in a super-intense Tabata session.

Sylwia combined her Polish and Welsh heritage to storm the Xercise Factor and apply her never-say-die attitude. With Mike as her mentor it was always going to be an intense ride for Sylwia, but she was up early and fully committed every week to get fitter for the Tough Mudder race she is training for.  ‘This Girl Definitely Can’ as she has broken down a lot of stereotypes in her application to training!

Janet has become a mini-celebrity around Campus helped along by her mentor and PR agent Jeni, she has fully embraced the Xercise Factor competition and changed her whole lifestyle and outlook to training.  Whilst continuing with her favourite classes, Janet has trained all over the fitness suites and achieved significant results in both fitness and personal development, inspiring and surprising her family with her motivation and commitment to the Xercise Factor cause, she now has an army of fans on campus and is a worthy runner-up…

….as this year’s Xercise Factor champion is Wura! She has shown tremendous commitment to the competition and set some lifting personal bests that would put some of the mentors to shame.  She has worked her limit in every session and trained through the pain and distraction of finding out about the severity of a long term injury to her knee.  More than just a personal journey, Wura has inspired her friends and has been waking up her housemates at 6.00am, towing them along to the Sports Centre for early workouts. In this, she embodies what the Xercise Factor is all about; a change of attitude, a change of focus and cementing those changes for the rest of your life! Well Done Wura and her mentor Ben Roberts.

Congratulations to Wura and all of the contestants in this year’s Xercise Factor, their blogs and media make interesting viewing and could be just the inspiration you need to change, why not take a look and start your own journey? Following this year’s success, watch out for the Xercise Factor’s return next year!
