Cycle ride to Tankerton

Friday 5 May was a typically British overcast spring evening. However, that did not discourage thirteen students and staff to meet at the Kent Sport Cycle Hub, nest to the Pavilion, to begin their free guided evening ride to Tankerton (near Whitstable) for some exercise, fun and fish and chips!

The ride, which was part of Kent Sport’s Cycling Festival, followed the scenic Crab and Winkle way, national cycle route 1, all the way to the coast at Whitstable. The group then cycled slightly further up the coast to the seaside town of Tankerton where they were rewarded with well-earned fish and chips.

After a well-deserved rest, the group then returned to the Cycle Hub, completing their 20km ride. A productive Friday evening!

All the bikes used on the ride are available to hire for free from the Cycle Hub for Gold and Silver members. Small hiring fees apply to Bronze members. Why not hire a bike yourself and go and explore?

There are more cycle rides and lots of other destressing events such as foot golf and archery tag in term three! Check out the Sport at Kent term three brochure for more information: https://www.kent.ac.uk/sports/?view=3302
