Job Title: Street Promotions Team Member

Location: Based at The Canterbury Tales Visitor Attraction and the surrounding areas of Canterbury.

Hours of Work: 1030-1330 daily

Job Function:

This role will support our marketing team with the selling and promotion of the much-loved Canterbury Tales Visitor Attraction.

Mainly working outdoors in the historical City of Canterbury and the surrounding areas, you’ll be the first point of contact to our guests; informing them about our experience and assisting visitors with their enquiries.  You won’t need to be an expert on Chaucer but an interest in the subject is essential.

An outgoing personality, confidence and great work ethic are essential attributes of the role.

This role may also help to build relationships with local hotels and accommodation providers and require travelling in and around Canterbury City Centre on foot.

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING  

 

Relevant training in Customer Service

Relevant tourism qualification / training

EXPERIENCE

 

 

 

Working in a customer facing environment

Lone / independent working

Street promotional experience / charity sales experience

Experience within the leisure / tourism industry, particularly visitor attractions

Public relations, customer engagement

 

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Able to work proactively alone

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

A knowledge of tourist facilities in the City

An understanding / interest in Canterbury and English history

Ability to speak a foreign language
