Keep your valuables safe in the Library

keeitsafeWhen you’re in the Library, don’t leave your valuable items unattended: they may not be there when you get back.

  • Always take your devices, bag and wallet with you when you leave your desk.
  • Lock your PC while you take a break so you don’t need to leave your things there to reserve it. Save your work and click Take a break on the desktop. After 20 minutes the PC logs you out and unsaved work is lost.
  • If you see anything suspicious in the Library, tell a member of staff or email library-report@kent.ac.uk
  • Read these tips for staying safe on campus

  1. I just got home from the library and I realised I left my cheer shoes on the first floor of C block in one of the booths. Inside of the nfinity case is a white training bow

Where do I go to find it or collect it tomorrow ??

    1. Hi Bernice, sorry for the delay replying. The Welcome Desk in the Templeman Library keep lost property until 08:00 the following morning, then give it to Campus Security who keep it for 28 days, so you should check with them (in the building next to Grimond, near Santander).

  2. What should I do if I have missed my USB flash drive in the library? Could you possibly tell me the way to get it back? Thank you so much.

    1. If you left it there very recently, ask at the Welcome Desk in Templeman West or the Help Point in Templeman East. They keep lost property for a day and then give it to Campus Watch. If you lost it more than a day ago, visit Campus Watch (http://bit.ly/1TbGCdD) to check if they have it, or fill in their online form (http://bit.ly/1Lx3QEX) to report that it’s lost. I hope that helps and you find it!
