You are able, as part of your degree, to undertake an intensive experience of work, through the Professional Placement Year (PPY) scheme. Between Stage 2 and Stage 3, you can spend a year in an internship or work placement with an employer, getting a direct experience of work in a particular sector or industry. The CES and the School will help you find and apply for a placement, and will support you while you are on it. You can then return to your studies for your final year – students who have undertaken the PPY have said that they came back to their final year invigorated by their experience, and many have gone on to full-time positions with the organisation with which they did their placement.

You can find out more information about how to apply for the placement year, how it is assessed, and how it can benefit you, at http://www.kent.ac.uk/humanities/studying/placement/.
