The School has been advertising the work of Enactus Kent, a student society involved in organising volunteering projects and helping students to significantly enhance their CVs and skillsets. This is a blog post summarising their recent team training day, which was open to all Enactus Kent members.

We at Enactus Kent, a student society creating self-sustainable volunteer projects, held our first training event on the 8th of November. It was an afternoon filled with skills sessions, information workshops, ice-breakers and teambuilding activities.

After a brief welcome and introduction by our Corporate Relations Executive, we began our training with Enactus Anatomy, a session that included a mini-history of Enactus, inspiring volunteer project examples and information about Enactus competitions.  We followed it with a short, fun mini quiz on the same.

Our second session, named The Big Bang Projects continued the focus on volunteering projects, providing insights on everything from starting your own project to analysing and maximising its impact to help you make a real difference.

The House of Operations session covered innovative marketing strategies and fundraising ideas and finished with advice on planning successful events to support our projects. With the Keeping Up with Self Awareness session we took a good look at ourselves, figuring out our individual strengths and weaknesses and how best to apply them within our teams.

This was followed by the Game of Business Essentials, with examples on how to resolve conflicts, lead and motivate a team as well as plan for the future. Our last session, LinkedIn is the new Instagram, was centred around employability, with tips on building your CV, honing your interview skills and using LinkedIn.

All our training sessions were carried out by our advisors, comprised of experienced business experts, our university advisors and our support network from Enactus UK.
