Travel and Accommodation

There are parking spaces on campus, but provision is limited. To avoid congestion please use public transport wherever possible.

By Train:

  • High Speed Train between London St Pancras International and Canterbury West: Journey time approx. 60 minutes.
  • London (Victoria) to Canterbury East: Journey time approx. 85 minutes.
  • London (Charing Cross or Waterloo East) to Canterbury West: Journey time approx. 90 minutes.

By Bus:

There is a regular bus service to the University from both the rail and central bus stations. Return tickets cost £2 and can be bought on board the bus. The Unibus (normally yellow) and buses 4, 4a and 4b to Whitstable all stop at the University.

  • Canterbury Bus Station to the University. Regular bus service taking approx. 14 minutes.
  • From Canterbury East turn right straight outside the station (do not cross the bridge opposite the station) and follow the road to the bus stop.
  • From Canterbury West turn right and walk to the end of the road. Cross the road at the zebra crossing and the bus stop is on the left.

On Foot:

The University can be reached in a pleasant half hour walk from Canterbury West station.

  • Turn left out of the station and walk to the end of the road.
  • Just after the ‘Goods Shed’ market on your left, take the footpath on the left and take the subway under the railway line.
  • The University is signposted on blue signs from here.

Accommodation:

Canterbury has a wide range of accommodation available, from B&Bs, hotels and hostels.
