English at Kent Day 2015

On Saturday 7th November 2015 the School of English held its fourth annual English at Kent Day, an event which enables prospective students to experience being an English student for the day. The event gave visitors the opportunity to find out more about English at Kent, speak with current students and members of staff, as well as attending sample seminars.

In the morning there were a number of short talks in the lecture theatre about various aspects about the course, including student presentations about studying the courses we offer and the year abroad options. In the afternoon students were able to choose up to three different sample seminars from a number of different options which covered topics from Chaucer through to 20th Century literature and Creative Writing workshops.

The day had a great atmosphere and was well attended. It was also a fantastic opportunity for us to meet with potential future students and share our passion for the subject. Our student helpers and members of staff all thoroughly enjoyed the day and we hope that those who were able to make it did too. Thank you for all the positive feedback. If you would like to ask any questions or have any comments about the day, please get in touch with us at englishevents@kent.ac.uk.

If you were unable to attend but are made an offer to study English at Kent you will be invited to a UCAS Applicant Day. These feature sample seminars and mini lectures, plus the opportunity to speak with current students and staff.  We look forward to seeing you there.
