The first focus group meeting was held today in the Templeman library with nine brave souls now equipped with myFolio accounts and sent off to begin their e-folios and résumes. We had ten booked for the group but two didn’t show up. Fortuitously someone else did which reduced our defecit to one.
Dan Clark, University Learning Technologist gave a quick but informative tour of the software and explained the thinking behind personal development planning. All the sandwiches were consumed and we finished off with a summary of the aims of the project and a question and answer session.
The Amazon vouchers and the free lunches are obviously an attraction but we think the real gift is the myFolio software and the advantages it brings to graduates in a competetive jobs market.
Pleased to see a fairly wide range of disciplines covered by our volunteers and can’t wait to see the e-folios they build.
So, big thanks to our new members and good luck with myFolio. Looking forward to meeting the next crew tomorrow.
