Alumni work in School of Arts exhibition

Three exceptional video works from recent graduates at the School of Music and Fine Art were selected as a starting point to the current exhibition at the Studio 3 Gallery on the Canterbury campus.

Video works by Sophie Dixon, Ryan Kwok and Benjamin King, who all graduated with a BA in Fine Art in 2014, form part of the gallery’s Identification Please! exhibition, which aims to explore contemporary issues of place, information and identity, whilst showcasing the talent of Kent’s students.

To accompany these video works, students from the School of Arts’ newly created MA in Curating programme were asked to select pieces from the Kent Print Collection that responded to the themes and ideas presented in the videos, and they drew out a compelling and diverse range of prints which complement their colleagues’ pieces.

A private view of the exhibition can be seen following a screening of the Art Party film at the Studio 3 Gallery, Canterbury campus, on 21 August at 6pm. The film, by artist Patrick Brill (known creatively as Bob and Roberta Smith), is part documentary, part road movie, which follows the journey to the 2013 Art Party Conference to champion the importance of art and its place in the education system.

The event is free and open to all!
