Special Interest Group Workshop

Reader Response Research in Stylistics

Call for Papers

There will be a PALA Special Interest Group Workshop on ‘Reader Response Research in Stylistics’ at the PALA 2015 Canterbury conference [day and time tbc].

The Special Interest Group brings together researchers who collect and analyse extra-textual data about reader responses or the act of reading in their analyses of linguistic style. The workshop will take the form of a series of research papers followed by a roundtable discussion and is open to all conference attendees. The SIG organisers invite the submission of abstracts for the workshop. Papers that combine the analysis of extra-textual data with some specific textual analysis are particularly welcomed. The aim of the workshop is to promote interaction amongst reader response researchers working in stylistics.

Please send abstracts from no more than 250 words directly to the SIG organisers:

Sara Whiteley: sara.whiteley@sheffield.ac.uk

and

Patricia Canning: p.canning@ucr.nl

Abstracts should be sent as Word attachments, and include your full name, affiliation, academic position, postal address, email address, the title of your paper and five keywords.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 9th January 2015. Abstracts submitted to

the SIG which cannot be accommodated in the workshop will be forwarded for consideration for the main conference.
