Special Interest Group Workshop on Pragmatic Literary Stylistics

There will be a PALA Special Interest Group Workshop on Pragmatic Literary Stylistics on Saturday 18th July. The Special Interest Group brings together researchers interested in applying ideas from any area in linguistic pragmatics to the analysis, interpretation and evaluation of literary texts. Papers that combine some consideration of pragmatic theory with some specific textual analysis are particularly encouraged. The aim of the workshop is to promote interaction among those working with different theoretical approaches and a variety of literary genres, while sharing a focus on the pragmatic stylistic analysis of literary texts.

Please send abstracts of no more than 250 words directly to the SIG organisers:

Billy Clark (Middlesex University): b.clark@mdx.ac.uk

and

Siobhan Chapman (University of Liverpool): src@liverpool.ac.uk

Abstracts should be sent as Word attachments, and include your full name, affiliation, academic position, postal address, email address, the title of your paper and five keywords.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 9th January 2015. Abstracts submitted to the SIG which are not included in the workshop will be forwarded for consideration for the main conference.
