Special Interest Group:

Stylistics and Creative Writing

We are pleased to announce a second PALA Canterbury Special Interest Group Workshop, on stylistics and creative writing, scheduled for the morning of Thursday 16th July 2015. This Special Interest Group aims to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in exploring the many interfaces between stylistics and creative practice. Papers that combine some consideration of stylistics with specific practical applications relevant to writers working ‘at the coalface’ are especially welcome. One of the principal aims of the workshop is to invite and encourage collaboration between stylisticians and creative writers, and to lay the ground for a subsequent international research network and related research/creative outputs.

Please send abstracts of no more than 250 words directly to the SIG organisers:

Nigel McLoughlin (University of Gloucestershire): nmcgloughlin@glos.ac.uk

Jeremy Scott (University of Kent): J.D.Scott@kent.ac.uk

Abstracts should be sent as Word attachments, and include your full name, affiliation, academic position, postal address, email address, the title of your paper and five keywords.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 30th January 2015. Abstracts submitted to the SIG which are not included in the workshop will be forwarded for consideration for the main conference.
