British Science Week features Biosciences staff and students

Research from the School of Biosciences was brought to life during British Science Week at the Beaney House of Art and Knowledge in Canterbury. Dr. Alice Racca, Marie Curie Research Fellow in the School of Biosciences, together with PhD students Rosie Gough and Marie Anderson – all from the Mechanics and Dynamics of Cells and Proteins (MaDCaP) research group, explored concepts such as human energy production, electric fields and magnetism with visitors of all ages. Through engaging demonstrations and experiments, visitors gained insight into how these concepts underpin Kent’s world-leading research into muscle contraction – and how the process is affected by ageing and disease states.
