Dr. Frances Mansfield wins Kent Union Teaching Award

FrancesIt was a night of celebration and success for the School of Biosciences at the Kent Union Teaching Awards. At a ceremony attended by staff and students, Dr. Frances Mansfield was presented with the Faculty of Sciences Teaching Prize. Dr. Mansfield brings a wealth of research experience in teaching a range of subjects – from plant biology to cell signalling – in all years of our undergraduate degree programmes. She also coordinates the School’s popular and successful peer mentoring scheme. In addition, Dr. Peter Klappa was shortlisted for the “Best Feedback” category, and Dr. Jeremy Rossman was shortlisted for “Best Academic Adviser” – each one of only three shortlisted staff from across the university.

The Kent Union Teaching Awards recognise the efforts of staff and postgraduate students who are committed to the delivery of excellent degree programmes. They are awarded annually on the basis of nominations received from students.
